Two Arrested Protesting Energy Transfer Partners Shareholder Meeting

October 18, 2018 - 2:50 pm

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Two people were arrested at a Hilton in northwest Dallas while protesting Energy Transfer Partners.

Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners was holding its shareholder meeting at a hotel in nerothwest Dallas when a protest erupted.

Officials say protesters were trying to stop the company from building a 162-mile oil pipeline called the Bayou Bridge in Louisiana.

Police say protestors went inside the hotel and tried to set off the sprinkler system by starting a small fire in the bathroom.

Activist Yolonda Bluehorse says they didn't start a fire. She says they plan to keep protesting...saying the pipelines are destroying land.

Energy Transfer Partners is the same company that built the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline across four states.
