HOUSTON (1080 KRLD) - Two brothers are accused of shooting a pregnant woman in the Houston area.

Detectives say the woman was just waiting at a bus stop. Someone drove by and began shooting on March 14, 2019. Harris County deputies found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds lying in front of a bus stop.

The victim is 36 weeks pregnant. Harris County Sheriff's Office Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland says, "She's in good condition at a hospital. Doctor's say the baby's heath is excellent."

Investigators say two brothers, Kwan Tayes and Nickolaus Collins, had been previously arguing with a group of men at a business located behind the bus stop. That night at around 9:45 p.m., the two men drove down Ella Blvd and fired shots at the business and as the woman tried to flee, she was struck by gunfire.

Members of the Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Tayes and Collins at a residence. The two men are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
