DALLAS (KRLD) - Police say Major LaToya Porter helped create the promotions exam that officers take to become sergeants. But then she started a company that helped candidates prep for those same tests. The department believed this was a conflict of interest.

Major Paulette Richardson was fired for accepting money or gifts from subordinates and then trying to interfere with the subsequent investigation.

Because the two are majors, they are seen as exempt employees and therefore cannot appeal their terminations.

The firings come just two days after two other officers were relieved of their duties.
