DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Two Uber passengers are in the hospital after being shot outside a gas station in northwest Dallas.

The shooting was reported about noon Tuesday off West Northwest Highway, near Loop 12.

Police say two people noticed a man in a white Chevy Malibu following them and when it pulled up beside them, the driver started firing at their car.

The man and woman pulled into an Exxon gas station and ran inside.

The man working the cash register tells KRLD the woman was screaming.

"She said someone was trying to kill them for no reason and to lock the door. They then ran to the back of the store and hid," he says.

Witnesses say the car circled the gas station five times and then opened fire on the car the man and woman had been in.

During the shooting, police say two other cars were inadvertently hit. An Uber with two people in the backseat was shot and the two were rushed to the hospital with what's being described as non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating and have yet to release a possible motive. The gunman remains at large.
