AUSTIN (KRLD) - An unusual pair of eyeglasses is the focus of testimony, in the trial of a man accused of murdering a University of Texas freshman.

Prosecutors say glasses found near the body of Haruka Weiser match an unusual prescription belonging to Meechaiel Criner.

Criner is accused of raping and strangling Weiser as she walked back to her dorm in 2016. Police found her body days later, in a creek.

Criner's trial continues in Austin. He was 17-years-old at the time of the crime, and is not eligible for the death penalty. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
