DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Vice President Mike Pence will stop in Texas Monday to campaign for Congressman Pete Sessions and Senator Ted Cruz.

Pence is scheduled to land at Love Field around 11:00 a.m. He will then speak at a rally for Pete Sessions at Hilton Dallas Park Cities.

Sessions was first elected to Congress in 2002. He is running for re-election against Democrat Colin Allred.

Allred has never held office. He is a lawyer and former NFL player.

A New York Times poll last month showed Sessions with a 48-47 percent lead over Allred. Five percent of people who were polled said they were undecided.

Pence will then attend a fundraiser for Senator Ted Cruz. Details for that event have not been released.

Cruz was first elected in 2012, beating Democrat Paul Sadler 57-41 percent. A CBS poll released over the weekend showed Cruz leading Democrat Beto O'Rourke by six points, 50-44.

After the events in Dallas, Pence is scheduled to fly to Missouri to speak at an event for Republican Josh Hawley, who is running for Senate there.
