WACO (1080 KRLD) -When a four-legged friend needed help, the Waco Fire Department got the job done.

The department's Technical Rescue Team mobilized to rescue a dog that was trapped in a 30-foot-deep abandoned well Sunday night.  Officials say ten team members took part in the rescue effort, which took about 20 minutes to complete.

A specially-trained firefighter was carefully lowered into the narrow well and pulled the canine to safety.  The dog's relieved owner was on-scene for the reunion.  The animal was not injured.
