DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The woman charged with hiring a hitman to kill dentist Kendra Hatcher in an Uptown Dallas parking garage in 2015 will be allowed to wear make-up and do her hair before she appears in court.

Jury selection in the capital murder trial of Brenda Delgado starts Friday.

Prosecutors say Delgado hired Kristopher Love to rob and kill Hatcher because she started dating Delgado's ex-boyfriend. Love was sentenced to death last year.

Lawyers for Delgado filed a motion for gender neutrality. They say Delgado should be allowed to do her hair and wear make-up when she appears in court.

Delgado's lawyers say men are allowed to shower, shave and get a haircut before they appear before a judge or jury. They say Love was allowed to "look completely presentable and respectful to the jury," but Delgado would have "no right" but to look like she "didn't care how she appears in court."

The judge granted the motion Thursday, saying she would notify the jail that Delgado's family could provide make-up, and Delgado could wear the make-up during her trial.

Delgado's trial is expected to begin in June.
