WYLIE (1080 KRLD) - A chase in Collin County ended in a deadly crash Wednesday after a 15-year-old boy beat his mother, took her SUV, fled police and crashed into a truck carrying port-a-potties.

The incident started with a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 100 block of South 5th Street in Wylie, police say. When officers arrived, they found a woman, bleeding in the apartment complex parking lot.

Witnesses told police Schell had struck his mother several times in the head with a baseball bat, before taking off in her vehicle. When police caught up with the SUV, Schell refused to stop.

Schell was killed on impact. Police said the driver of the truck uninjured.

Schell's mother remains in serious condition in the ICU.
