Kristin Weisell

Kristin is a morning and early afternoon news reporter on KRLD and feels incredibly lucky to be working at such an awesome radio station so early in her career.

Born and raised in Richardson, she first decided news broadcast was for her in high school, after her younger sister encouraged her to do it so someone could do her makeup and hair every day. But in her first week at the Walter Cronkite Journalism School at Arizona State University, she went on a whim to a student radio meeting, got her own news show, and was hooked on radio.

While at school, she dabbled in entertainment but eventually came back to her first love, news.

Kristin was honored to place in the top 12 of the fall 2012 Hearst Journalism Awards in her junior year. She graduated from the Cronkite School and Arizona State in May 2014, and came home to Dallas.

Kristin was an active member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority while at school, and is now an active alum.

She also volunteers at the Second Chance SPCA in Plano.

She loves her family, friends, Downton Abbey, the Dallas Mavericks, country music, and a good strong margarita.
