January in Texas! One day it can be in the 70s, the next in the 20s. We can also experience severe weather.

We will feel temps in the 70s by Thursday and Friday and some upper 20s by Saturday morning, but the cold air won’t last long...neither will the severe weather late Friday.

Please stay weather aware from 4pm to 4am Friday night into early Saturday morning. There is a threat for some severe weather, especially along and east of a Gainesville to Fort Worth to Hillsboro to a College Station line.

As we get 12 to 24 hours out, I'll be tweaking the timeline, threats and locations. In the meantime, enjoy the nice weather today and tomorrow.

The 2nd half of January may be much colder with more precipitation possible.

  • Our string of nice days continue through tomorrow.
  • South wind returns tomorrow, surface moisture increases.
  • Showers possible Thursday/some strong to severe storms by evening Friday!
  • A COLD day Saturday! Sun returns by afternoon.
  • Quick warm up Sunday through next Wednesday.
  • Trending colder the 2nd half of January!
