The Dallas - Fort Worth area has a bit of work to do if it wants to be considered a place for foodies.

The Metroplex doesn't get much love from the Foodie world, even though Bon Appetit magazine named Dallas its "Restaurant City of the Year" for 2019.

Wallet Hub came out with a list of the best foodie cities in the country, and no city in DFW could break through the top 40. It looked 30 different categories for foodies, everything from the cost of groceries to how affordable and accessible high-quality restaurants are to food festivals per capita.

The top city wasPortland, Oregon, then New York City.

Only 1 Texas city finished in the top 10... that's Austin.

Out of 182 cities, the best we could do here is Dallas at 43rd place.

Fort Worth finished 66th, Plano 76th and Arlington in 94th place.
