See some of the fun things happening around DFW this weekend. 

 

1.Dallas Safari Club Heritage

The Dallas Safari Club Convention and Sporting Expo kicks off at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The expo includes nearly a thousand exhibitors, more than 1800 booths featuring guns, gear, auctions and awards.  The event is one of the biggest fundraisers in the state for conservation.

2. The Color Purple

It won the 20-16 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, and now you can see it for yourself at the Winspear Opera House.  The Color Purple tells the story about a woman's journey to love in the American South. The show opens Thursday night and runs through Sunday evening.

3. Panther Island Ice

It's not too late to take advantage of Panther Island Ice and go outdoor skating in Fort Worth.

It's located at the Coyote Drive-In, it's open every day, and yes they sell food and drinks.

Where: Coyote Drive-in, 223 NE Fourth St., Fort Worth.

When: Daily, times vary

Cost: $13, includes skate rental

4. Arlington Brawl and FANFEST

If you're a wrestling fan there's a whole weekend of events for you. IMPACT Wrestling is hosting the Arlington Brawl and FANFEST at Texas Live! in Arlington.

The event takes place Saturday afternoon where people can meet their favorite stars and knockouts, and check out some matchups.

5. Hard to Kill

The wrestling continues in North Texas.  Sunday the big "Hard to Kill" competition in Dallas at the Bomb Factory.  It promises to be a history making night of action and drama where there will be a fight for the World Title.  If you can’t make it out it’s also available on pay-per-view.
