Here's a look at what's happening this weekend in North Texas.


The Firehouse Theatre presents Mamma Mia!
Catch The Firehouse Theatre's performance of Mamma Mia this summer. It features ABBA's greatest hits and the story of a mother, a daughter, three possible dads, a trip down the aisle. The show's taking place all weekend long with matinee times also available.

Funnier than a Mutha#*@%!& Comedy Festival: Ladies Night Out
Saturday night The Theatre at Grand Prairie features the Funnier than a Mutha#*@%!& Comedy Festival: Ladies Night Out. Feature performances include  Nene Leakes, Loni Love, Sherri Shepherd, Adele Givens, Jess Hilarious, Kym Whitley, and Janelle James. The show starts at 8pm on Saturday and tickets are still available online.

Majestic Theatre presents Star Wars: A New Hope 
Star Wars: A New Hope, written and directed by George Lucas, is the first film in the original trilogy and the beginning of the Star Wars franchise. It has been officially re-released several times, including the "Special Edition."Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Empire.

Flick and Float 
And if you want to see a movie and stay cool at the same time...take the kids to "Flick and Float" at Wet Zone Water Park in Rowlett on Saturday night. Shrek will be this week's featured movie with Chick-fil-A sanwiches available for purchase.  The waterpark stays open late for a night under the stars so you can watch a movie while floating in the pool or from your lawn chair. Gates open at 8 p.m. The movie begins around 8:30 p.m.
