4th Annual Rib Roast
Grand Prairie

Celebrate Veteran's Day Weekend at the Fourth Annual Rib Roast in Grand Prairie. Festivities include a sanctioned smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket competition, a margarita challenge, bloody Mary challenge, best beans and Friday night wing fling. There will also be live music, raffles, silent auction, bounce houses, kids events and more. It's happening at Lloyd Park at Joe Pool Lake on Friday and Saturday nights.

Hugs Cafe Chili Cook-Off

Warm yourself with some chili at Tupps Brewery in McKinney. Local restaurants will  be serving samples of Texas chili to compete for the  in hopes of winning the people’s choice award. Proceeds benefit Hugs Cafe, which provides employment and job training for adults with special needs. It takes place on Saturday

For the Love of Craft Screening and Pink Boots Release
Fort Worth

It's North Texas Beer Week and, to celebrate in style, the local chapter of the Pink Boots Society, an organization for female beer professionals, is debuting a dry-hopped pilsner to pair with a screening of "For the Love of Craft" - a documentary featuring microbrewing pioneers and their journeys in the industry. It's happening on Friday night at the Funky Picnic Brewery and Cafe on Bryan Ave in Fort Worth.

Dinosaurs Live!


Travel back in time along a half-mile nature trail with a 46-foot Tyrannosaurus rex and nine new life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar. The trail is jogging stroller friendly and features a dino-climbing play area for kids, an outdoor fossil dig and plenty of photo ops. The exhibit is included in the price of general admission and is open through Feb. 17, 2020.
