Dak Contract Deadline Quickly Approaches For Dallas Cowboys

Monday, July 13th
The Dallas Cowboys have until 3 p.m. Wednesday to sign quarterback Dak Prescott to a long-term contract.  Reports indicate it is unlikely to happen before this week's deadline.

The club has Prescott locked in for 2020 under the $31.4 million exclusive franchise tag.  But if he does not agree to a multi-year deal by Wednesday, the contract issue would have to wait until after the upcoming NFL season.

The Cowboys and Prescott's representatives have been negotiating for some time.  Reports indicate the length of a contract is the main sticking point.  Prescott wants four years, while the club prefers a five-year agreement.

On Monday, former NFL scout Bryan Broaddus of 105.3 The Fan joined the KRLD Morning News with an update on the contract standoff.
