Friday, July 10th
It's a story that caught the attention of a lot of pet owners in North Texas.

State veterinary officials confirmed a dog in Tarrant County tested positive for COVID-19.  Authorities say the animal was not seriously ill, has made a full recovery and is back with its owners. Experts believe the dog may have contracted the virus from its owners.

Dr. Andy Schwartz is the Texas State Veterinarian. He says this was not the first example of an animal catching the coronavirus, but it was the first case of its type in Texas.  Dr. Schwartz shared advice for other pet owners as he spoke with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
