Will Governor Abbott Give In And Mandate Masks?

Monday, June 29th
Gov. Greg Abbott is strongly urging Texans to wear masks to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.  But despite growing pressure, the governor continues to resist issuing an executive order that would make masks mandatory statewide.

With Dallas County reporting more than 1,100 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, Judge Clay Jenkins sent a letter to Gov. Abbott to repeat his plea for a mask order.

On Monday, University of North Texas political science professor Dr. Kimi King joined the KRLD Morning News to talk about the mask controversy and the potential political ramifications for the governor and other elected officials.
